This international festival of brass band music takes place in Vejvoda`s birthplace, Zbraslav, a suburb of Prague. It was started in 1998 by the music publisher Zbraslav Cultural Association, in honour of the brass band composer Jaromir Vejvoda (best known for his Beer Barrel Polka).
Small brass ensembles of up to 25 members are invited to compete over the three days, adjudicated by a three-man professional jury. The concerts take place throughout Zbraslav, including in a special festival tent in Zbraslav Square and in a restaurant on the square which is named after Vejovda`s famous polka, Skoda lasky (literally, Roll out the Barrels).Enjoy the concerts and visiting ensembles and take the time to view the architectural and cultural delights that epitomise Prague.
