The 24 floor hotel was opened in 1983 and has since undergone many major modernisation projects including reconstruction of hotel lobby, new Conference and Events Centre with capacity up to 360 persons, opening of several restaurants and bars and refurbishment of many of the hotel rooms. Corinthia Hotels International has operated the property since 1998.
