St. Martin's feast
It celebrates the end of the agrarian year and the beginning of the harvesting. At St. Martin's day, people ate and drank very heartily for a last time before they started to fast. St. Martin's Day is the traditional feast day in the run-up to Advent. Czechs roast goose and drink the Czech version of Beaujolais nouveau, Svatomartinské víno, a young wine from the recent harvest.
